i cleaned the metal coffee machine parts with bleach im sooo dumb. I know bleach will cause metal to oxidize really fast. i totally forgot and i put alot of bleach to clean the parts some of the parts went from silvwer to grey i cleaned them with soap after and some of the colour went away. then i scoured it it is probably 90% gone now but im wondering is this dangerous. like is the parts still usable or are they poisionous

The metal is oxidized and it won’t hurt you at all. I know it looks bad, but,(and I’m guessing it’s aluminum), it won’t even change the taste of the coffee. If it is aluminum it will react with both an acid and a base,
(aluminum is amphoteric). If fact pure powdered Aluminum will burst into flame if exposed to air. The thing that makes aluminum inactive is the oxide film that forms on the metal. Unlike iron, it doesn’t flake off but makes a strong bond with the metal surface and protects it from further corrosion. You could try soaking the “guts” in an ammonia solution or baking soda, either of which would do a better job. Also,you could try making a strong solution of hot detergent (either dish or washing) and pouring it into the pot with the parts inside. Let it stand over night. In the morning it may have removed all of the stain, but don’t worry, So Sad, it’s no big deal.
